Please join us on March 20 from 12 to 1:30 pm for The Promise of Summer, a special update on summer learning in Oakland, featuring Devin Dillon, Oakland Unified School District’s interim Superintendent and David Silver, Director of Education for Oakland Promise and the Mayor’s Office. In addition to lunch and networking, we will be releasing a National Summer Learning Association report on the state of summer in Oakland. This is a collaborative event of the Oakland Summer Learning Network, the Oakland Literacy Coalition, the Oakland Unified School District and the Oakland Fund for Children and Youth.
Please RSVP here.
The data about summer learning loss is clear and devastating, particularly for young people whose families cannot afford expensive summer program fees. It is critically important that we come together as a community to plan and provide as much affordable, high quality summer learning as possible for Oakland youth. We hope you will join us.
